5 stars isn’t enough for Michaelis Corp! I give them 10 stars and would highly recommend them for any disastrous situation like I encountered. I had a pinhole leak in the waterline to my refrigerator that led me on the hunt for assessments due to drywall and electrical damage. I had six quotes for remediation and rebuilding one side of my kitchen. Some were outrageous and some were simply not interested in competing. Towards the end, a friend suggested I call Michaelis Corporation because he had met them while out dining one evening. They were the last on my list, but I immediately felt comfortable with Scott, the assessor. My situation was complicated because I had major surgery already scheduled which was going to have to come in between the remediation and the rebuild. The remediation went as scheduled, and they gave me several weeks for recovery before starting the rebuild. I was always kept up to date on scheduling and the job was always cleaned up after every visit. I was devastated when this happened, and I needed a company I could trust and work with me during my surgery. I’ve had my share of bad contractors so that added to the stress. But Scott, Keith and Cody were always a text away and very flexible with my surgery/recovery. Ulysses is a true artisan when it comes to fixing anything. My kitchen looks as if nothing ever happened! The installer arrived punctually, re-measured to make sure everything was correct, and work was done efficiently within 2 hours. That included taking out the cemented in place steel door frame, re-cementing a new frame in place, installing the new crawl space entry, and taking time to going over details of the job with us and acquainting us with operation of the new entry door. We couldn’t be more pleased with materials and work.

A water leak from our furnace humidifier flooded the utility room and extended into the two adjoining areas, a bathroom and the front door entry (all linoleum flooring) . We got the leak stopped and cleaned up all the water we could see. My concern was what about the wall plates of the adjoining area and the laminate flooring next to these areas. I contacted Michaelis and two other water damage restoration companies in our area. Within a few minutes of my call, I received a return call from James Porter. Within less than an hour James was at our house to perform an inspection. He was very thorough and explained at each part of the inspection what he was doing and the resulting readings. Fortunately the damage was minimal ; confined to a couple sections of baseboard for which fan drying was recommended. I contacted James later for some follow-up questions for which he quickly responded. I hope I never need the services of a restoration company in the future, but if I do I know Michaelis is who I will contact. I was very impressed with the promptness, professionalism, knowledge and friendliness of James as well as the receptionist her first took my call. I cannot say the same about my experience with the two other companies I contacted.
