A Top-Notch Team With No Weak Links

 Steve Eppink had an unwelcome surprise one day when he went down to his seldom-used basement.

“The carpet squished underneath my feet,” he said. “A backed-up drain had caused standing water in the basement.”

Steve used to work in an office near Michaelis’s headquarters, so he often saw their trucks and vans driving around. When his insurance broker recommended Michaelis as well, Steve gave them a call.

“The first person I talked to was Rick [Michaelis Jr.] and he was johnny-on-the-spot,” said Steve. “I was talking to James [Porter] by the end of the day, and he came over the next day to give me an estimate.”

Steve found the entire Michaelis team to be very organized.

“Once they started, it was done in five working days,” he said. “They knew what they were supposed to do and there were no delays.”

The team cut drywall that had started to mold and ripped out and installed new carpet. They also replaced the wood trim on the baseboards and around the doors.

“We discovered the water in Steve’s basement was coming from a clogged floor drain, so we referred him to a plumber who could unclog it to keep it from backing up again,” Dave Doyle, Michaelis project manager, explained.

“Dave contacted me every day,” Steve said. “They were very fast and professional.”

Steve said Michaelis has a strong team, from top to bottom.

“Everyone I dealt with was professional and responsive, all the way up to Amanda [Schutte], who I did the accounting with,” he said. “And they are nice people, which I really appreciate.”

Steve said he would not hesitate to recommend Michaelis or use them for future projects.

“If I had to rate them, they are a 10 out of 10,” he said. “That doesn’t happen too often these days.”
